China: Major MTO projects in China will be put into mass production in 2016 and it is expected that China’s methanol importation will reach 25million tons by 2023.
North America: Methanol production from natural gas developed greatly. Two large scale units from Methanex and Celanese will also be put into mass production and it is forecasted that the annual producing capacity will reach 18million tons by 2020.
Mid-East: The revocation of the Iran Sanctions is expected to increase the methanol productivity of Iran by 8-10 million tons/year before 2025. In the second half of 2016, one 1.8millionMTPD unit will come into production in Iran.
