Market change
In 2014, China’s crude runs reached 497 million tons and the output of LPG continued to rise to 22.96 million tons despite a decline in the yield. The country will see a few new start-ups of refining facilities in 2015 and the international crude oil prices will still hover at low levels. The domestic LPG market has been dull so far this year. Can we expect the market to rally later in the year?
Raw material trend
With the progress of industrialization and faster development of LPG further processing, China’s LPG market is facing the problem of raw material shortage. The country’s LPG import volume was around 7 million tons in 2014, an increase of 66% or 2.789 million tons over the previous year. The import volume will continue to rise this year and imported raw materials will take a bigger market share. Now, the domestic gas market has seen inflows of propane form the United States and gas resources from Russia. Imported gas resources must be the focus of the market. What about the supply situation and trend in these countries?
Downstream application
Year 2016 marks the beginning of China’s 13th “Five-Year Plan” period. With the deepening of energy system reform, local refineries will continue to fight for equal treatment in raw material import qualification. Many of them will choose to develop specialty products or extend their value chain. What about downstream rubber and resin sectors’ demand for these highly processed products?
