2014 China Natural Gas-Fueled Distributed Energy Summit

So far, there are nearly 200 naturural gas distributed energy projects built in China. And the number of such projects is expected to add to around 1000 by the end of 2015, according to China’s 12th five-year plan (2011-2015). In some areas, local governments provide investment subsidies of as high as 50 million yuan for a naturural gas distributed energy project. This policy will be followed in more areas. Naturural gas distributed energy projects have great environmental performance. If their economic benefits could be guaranteed, such projects would have huge market potential in China.

Naturural gas distributed energy only has a short history in China. Therefore, it’s important for domestic enterprises in this field to draw practical experience from each other. There are several issues that can affect the capacity utilization of naturural gas distributed energy projects such as load research and growth forecast, optimization of project design and proper selection of equipments. Other issues determine the economic efficiency of such projects are access to stable natural gas supply, guaranteed economic benefits even in situations of natural gas price hikes and possible operation patterns for completed projects.
