PP:

In 2013, PP capacity worldwide reached around 67.88 million tons, of which the capacity in China accounted for 19.5%. Asia, West Europe, North America and the Middle East were still major PP producing areas. Total PP capacity in the four regions made up 83.07% of the world total. Northeast Asia, China in particular, the Middle East and India will be main engines of PP capacity growth in the future. In China, CTO/MTO and PDH are popular investment projects. China’s additional capacity is expected to make up 63.0% of world capacity growth during 2014-2018. Taken delays of some projects into consideration, China’s additional PP capacity is estimated at around 1.88 million tons in 2014; the additional capacity worldwide will reduce from 3.22 million tons to 2.98 million tons. At the meantime, global demand will increase by 2.80 million tons. The international market will be generally balanced to slightly surplus. What about scenarios in the PP market during 2014-2015?

PE:

The unexpected hikes in PE ex-works prices this June obviously dampened trading enthusiasm. Sudden price changes increased uncertainties in future market trend.

China still faces a tough situation in fulfilling its energy conservation and emission reduction mission. Jiaoshi of Fueling, Chongqing Municipality in China, a small town seated on the eastern rim of Sichuan Basin, suddenly became a focus of attention in world energy industry thanks to the high-profile shale gas revolution started in the United States. This small town initiated China’s shale gas revolution. Also, the operation of plastic futures has been mature. How will the delivery quality standard affect the future market?
