11th International TPEs Summit 2014

Time:2014-06-18 -06-19location:guangdong guangzhoushi

Emerging economies have been slowing after excessive growth since the outbreak of the latest financial crisis. The crisis also hurt advanced economies and significantly reduced their import demand for products made in developing countries. Poor external demand has a notable impact on developing economies.

The global economy is expected to restore normal growth in 2014 due to factors like the deleveraging of private sectors and fiscal constraints in public sectors. IHS forecasts that the world economy might have a 3.3% growth this year, higher than the 2.5% grow rate in 2013. With improving economic conditions, the growth rate of the global chemical industry is very likely to reach 3.8% in 2014, well above the 2.4% increase a year ago. Asian developing nations, the Middle East and Latin America will remain the growth engine of the global chemical industry.

As the industry grows faster, capacity utilization rates will also improve. As for fine chemicals and specialty chemicals which have higher added values, steady growth of automobile, energy and personal care industries driven by US economic recovery and the burgeoning middle class in the emergingmarkets will lead to higher-than-average growth rate of specialty chemicals sectors in 2014.

Global thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) market will continue to grow with more diversified materials and novel uses. The market will maintain fast growth for a decade. TPE consists of a variety of materials with different properties

which enables them a wide range of applications. Sources said that the total value of the global TPEs market is estimated at around $14.96 billion in 2013.
