2014 6th Olefin & Derivatives Summit

Time:2014-06-11 -06-12location:guangdong guangzhoushi

In recent years, North American shale gas revolution is a hot issue for the petrochemical and chemical industry. The energy structure will be changed and more and more people focus on it. It not only decides the future of oil, gas and coal energy pricing system, and the global supply pattern, also established the manufacturing center of ethylene will be transferred to the east of North America. But considering a series of new North America of ethane to ethylene device still needs a long construction cycle, its impact on Asian market overall is expected to around 2017.

Otherwise, the technology of global olefin, especially in the propylene manufacturing process, is diversified. Such as PDH, MTO/P, ACO, etc. So the olefin industry and the enterprises will be more and more competitive. It is very important that how to use each energy materials to make your own olefins units operated under the cost-effective, advanced production technology, etc. Shale gas is gradually instead of crude oil, to be an important role in the global olefin industry in the future. The competition of the olefins will be more intense.

On the side of demand, China and the Middle East will continue to lead the growth of global ethylene demand, but the capacity in the Middle East market is limited, most of the export demand will still be in the ethylene derivatives products, such as PE and MEG. Asia Pacific, especially Chinese demand will continue to grow, huge domestic market demand for polyethylene and ethylene oxide remain sharp rise. Propylene demand growth also will be given priority to the Chinese market, in about 3-5 years, PP, NBA & 2ECH, epoxy propane released their new capacity will be concentrated. But meanwhile, it needs to pay attention to the excess production capacities, maybe there will be a negative impact on the demand for olefin materials in the future years.

CBI Biz invite you to attend 2014”6th, olefin & derivatives summit” on 11th-12th, June, in Guangzhou.

Highlights

  • The Middle East is playing a bigger role in global ethylene supply with the capacity expansion in Iran in 2013. Will ethylene exports from this region to Asia-Pacific market increase in the future?
  • North American shale gas revolution brings about inexpensive ethane resources in huge volumes, which will usher in a decade-long golden age for the global ethylene industry. When will the Asian market feel the impact of low-cost ethylene and PE resources?
  • In 2013, capacity utilization rates of ethylene facilities based on light hydrocarbons and mixed feedstock improved but those of naphtha-based facilities continued to fall. What about ethylene manufacturers’ raw material selection in the future?
  • CTO/MTO and PHD technologies have become mature in China. What are the key obstacles preventing many new/expansion projects there from being completed on schedule?
  • China’s existing PDH projects still rely on imported propane. Will the country’s propane production get a boost from upcoming PDH projects?
  • Which derivative sectors will give powerful support to the Chinese olefins market in 2014, PO, EG, SM, EO, butanol/2-EH, PO, ACN?
