Ship owners and managers are seeking alternative and cutting edge methods in managing their fuel costs.

Asia Bunker Fuel Oil 2008 held on September 8th and 9th gathered the influential ship owners, marine operators, bunker oil suppliers, international traders and relative regulators from Singapore, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Russia and China to discuss relevant topics on how to reach a sustainable development of this industry. They shared their best practices in managing fuel efficiency, cost and saving, analyzing the latest risk management strategies in bunker fuel procurement.

Bunker manager Terje W. Cook from Star Shipping, one of the major shipping companies, gave us a wonderful speech of Operational Problems due to environmental legislation. And Matt Cape, CEO from Petromedia; Hongliang Lee, Editor from Bunkerworld; William Chia, General Manager from Brightoil, Navy Liu, Editor Manager from C1 Energy, shared their opinions and understanding about the current bunker market, its past and future. Kenneth Ng, Director from SGX Asia Clear, analyzed the Asia Bunker market from the angle of credit risk management. Jorn Winkler, the founder from DK Group, measured the ship pollution and the improvement channels. Bill Amos, Partner from Ince & Co; Victor Lum, Senior Business Manager from SGS also brought their sparkling ideas of this industry.
